 Late at night, the Mermaid plays in the ocean, dreaming of the parallel world: sea and sky, moon and sun, love and hate and happiness and sadness.  She dreams of her former life living on the sea, away from stress, chaos, and the surreal tales of politics, family drama and childhood secrets.  This self-portrait captures the past life of cruising on a sailboat in the middle of the ocean seeking adventures of faraway places.  Finally, the Mermaid can hide from the outside world or reality being at peace, she seeks the safety surrounded by the seas, crashing the shimmering plankton against the beautiful strong Mermaid’s tail.

Welcome to the first annual Key West Art Center Associate Members’ Show at 301 Front Street, Key West.  It begins with an opening reception on Friday, April 17^th and continues on exhibit for two weeks with all works available for sale.  The show is a benefit of membership and a chance to show off the many talents of our associate members.

   

April 17  -  Show opens.  Reception 5 - 7:30 p.m.    Invite your friends and family!

 My Dreadlock Mermaid Prints are now available for sale.  These exotic whimsical mermaids were created from memories of our adventures in the Bahamas.  The beautiful Bahama seas are captured in these paintings and the dreadlocks worn by the Bahamians.  This is the beginning of the Dreadlock Mermaid series.  Only 100 prints for each painting will be numbered and signed by the Artist.  Prices are listed after prints.
