I Am Fierce

Not many people know that I'm a poet.  I began writing poems when I was in the fourth grade.  I realized later on that all the Hymnals are poems, and I loved singing at Church, even though I'm not a singer, but I do love to sing.  I have published one poetry book called Sensuous Books Through Time and poetry in all my Night Night Sailboat children's books and the Aerospace trilogy.   I was requested to write this poem by a famous person after I talked to her one day.  She inspired me and I sent the poem to her which she read on her program nationally and possibly internationally.  Thank you my Friend.

I Am Fierce

The seas are confused as my ship runs aground

The winds blow fiercely, but the ship is sound

It can take the weather, it can take the waves

But can it take the silence, the darkness, the sprays

The ship is now aground; how do I make amends

How can I be fierce against the seas and wind

Shall I wait for the rising tide

With my shipmates by my side

The seas will torment me until I see the morn

My ship lifts off the sand dune, no longer forlorn

Away from the rocky, treacherous shore

Further, for us to set sail evermore

I helm behind the red full-sail

The calm seas as I drink my ale

The joyful dolphins play before the bow

I forgot yesterday’s knowing how

To remember all the little things

I used to say, and I used to think

Gone are the real words I could speak

I’ll find the words; I have to seek

Set the sails another way

I’m afraid of what one would say

But I must be fierce; I must implore

Unlike a lion, I will silently roar

I’ll be fierce as I open my eyes

Life was fun with no disguise

Dream of years long ago

As the storm blows and blows

Through the blinding torrent of rain

I sit at watch; no one to blame

Seeking the calmness of the seas

With no one but me to please

I shall roar but not silently

For I find myself angrily

To have a death of me but not to die

My fierce roar intertwined with a cry

Fierce am I, Fierce am I

To continue life, I will sigh

Against the blankness of my mind with no cure

I loudly roar again, again, to endure

Fierce Am I

Here's Looking At You

The buyer sent me an Email:  We’re looking forward to seeing your painting of our parrot sculpture which you can please leave at our front desk at Old Town Manor, 511 Eaton Street, Key West.  Tell them it is owner's painting which we plan on displaying somewhere there.

They took a picture while I was painting.  It is such a beautiful location.  The smell of bread was heavenly.   I left Here's Looking At You at the desk.

The Bahamas Series Paintings

I'm going to do more paintings of The Bahamas.
 Current Cut Sunset at Eleuthera
This is where we met our new friend Tonya.  She has invited us back to join her and her family.  Current Cut is treacherous and you have to time it right to get through the cut.  It looks very safe.
 Don't take any chances.
Before the Storm at Highbourne Cay

This was right before the storm of 60 knot wind and 7 foot seas.  We were buddy boating with Art and Brenda Flynn when we ready to sit down to dinner.  Both boats lost anchors and it was a miracle we didn't lose our boats. The pirate was watching after us. (Do you see the Pirate?)
